Writing Dance
Writing Dance
Could you picture a dance artist sitting at a desk writing down a dance?
Maybe you couldn’t. How is that possible? Dancers are constantly moving.
In fact, dance has been written. Artist and theorist, Rudolf Laban (1879 – 1958), had invented a graphical system of analyzing and recording movement.
This kind of analysis is also useful to animators, athletes, and physiotherapists.
Here we would love to show you a diagram used to write dance. It shows you different parts of the body: arm, forearm, hand, head, leg, feet, etc. each part of the mobilizable body has its symbol.

As physical spaces remain shut and audiences head online, we have tried for the first time to hold an Instagram-based exhibition, @go.around.pop.
To add extra depth and interactivity, we created a short video of backstory for each item. This backstory video is 15 seconds long without sound.
